Advance: 

50 % of the fees to reserve your spot. We request to deposit the amount through our Paypal link

Balance:

50 % can be in cash, card at the reception at the time of checking in. We will allow the participant stay only after the final payment.

 

Cancellation Policy:

We will no refund your deposit . But you can reschedule your course - one time  for the next available dates.

Curriculum and syllabus :

 

  • Hatha and Vinyasa – learning the differences and benefits of each style, and how they are meant to work together.

  • Learn, in-depth, over 80 advanced poses and their benefits, modifications, etc. 

  • Learn the basics of Pranayama, the yogic art of breathing.

  • Build and develop your own yoga practice. 

  • Learn to teach others with clarity, precisions, and confidence.

  • Learn the importance and use of props. 

  • Study ancient and modern day Yogic Philosophy and study of texts (The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, the Bhagavad Geeta, and more!). 

  • Subtle ethics of yoga, and how to integrate this lifestyle into the modern world of yoga. 

  • Understand different types of students, bodies, needs, climates, and build smart, innovative, and safe sequences for all.

  • Gain practical and hands on experiences in teaching. 

  • Gain a lifelong resource for any and all future endeavors while on your yoga journey.

Daily Schedule :

The daily schedule is thoughtfully structured to immerse you in yoga:

06:30 - 07:00: Pranayama / meditation

07:00 - 08:30: Asana practice

08:30 - 09:30: Theory on meditation & pranayama

09:30 - 15:30: Self-study, break and rest

15:30 - 16:30: Yoga Philosophy, Anatomy & Physiology

16:30 - 17:30: Asana analysis & breakdown

17:30 - 19:00: Evening asana practice or other activities

19:30 – Dinner and rest

 

Please note that the daily schedule is subject to change and varies each week, with a detailed program provided every Sunday. Special sessions can be added. We provide a lot of reading material and hence the day will be busy.

 

Certification:

Students who complete this training are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT). We offer a printed certificate at the end of the course on graduation day provided satisfactory performance and attendance. Lead Trainer decision is final.

Accommodation: 

Accommodation is not part of the course fees and it is your responsibility to find a suitable guest house .List of guest houses can be found in this link https://guesthouses.auroville.org/. We don’t have man power to do the booking and other co-ordination. You can try to find accommodation elsewhere also based on your budget. 

Travel:

 

Auroville is located 8 kilometers north of the city of Pondicherry (officially Puducherry). It is easily accessible by plane, train, and bus. The nearest domestic airport is Pondicherry (PDY), and the international airport is Chennai International Airport (MAA). There are many buses from Chennai to Pondicherry. The easiest option is to take a taxi from the airport, and we can arrange a taxi for you at an extra cost, which needs to informed to us well in advance. If you're feeling adventurous and have been to India before, an economical way is to take a bus from public Chennai to Pondicherry. From Chennai airport, you need to go to CMBT bus terminus in Chennai using the metro, local bus, tuk-tuk, Uber, or taxi to catch a bus to Pondicherry. Take a bus that runs on the bypass route and get off at Moratandi toll gate, which is 7 kilometers before Pondicherry city. From there, a tuk-tuk or taxi will bring you to the shala / your guest house. If you are already in India and traveling by train, we have a train station in Pondicherry city (PDY), which has limited trains to major cities in India. The nearest station well connected to the rest of India is Villupuram (VM), situated 40 kilometers from Auroville. Upon arriving, there are public buses to Pondicherry. Take a taxi if needed, but avoid tuk-tuks from Villupuram to Auroville as it's quite far.

 

Travel inside Auroville is easy with a scooter or bicycle. 

 

Airport – Our nearest international airport is Chennai International airport(MAA)

Pondicherry(PNY) has a domestic airport as well, but not well connected.  

 

Food : Food is not offered as part of the course, but we will share two meal together as it will be a chance for us to bond. Auroville has wide range of restaurants with choice and options in terms of cuisine and budget .

 

Beverages: Filtered water is available for use in the yoga shala and we try to avoid giving packed water. You can choose to drink the same or buy from the local stores.

 

Included Excursions:

 

Local temple tour: We offer a local temple tour and rich history of Tamil and Indian culture. There will be always some festivals that you can participate.

 

Things to do with extra payment:

Spa and Wellness: Pamper yourself with spa treatments, massages, and wellness therapies offered by various spas and resorts.

Shopping: Purchase souvenirs, handicrafts, and local artwork from Ppondicherry and Auroville markets and boutiques.

Surfing: There are nice surfing places in and around Auroville.

One day trip: Many ancient monuments and temples in and around Auroville like Mahabalipuram, Chidambaram, Thiruvanamalai

 

Remember that the cost of these activities may vary depending on the provider, the level of service, and the season. It's advisable to plan your activities in advance, budget accordingly, and inquire about package deals

 

 

Know before you go:

 

Passport : Remember you may have to have at least 6 months validity of your passport for travelling. Check this information with your travel agent / online.

Visa Requirements: Check the visa requirements for your nationality. Many countries can enter India for tourism purposes without a visa for a specified period, but it's essential to confirm this before your trip. You may be eligible for E Visa.

Currency: The local currency is the Indian Rupees (INR). Exchange some currency upon arrival for small expenses, and use ATMs for larger withdrawals.

Weather: India has a tropical climate, with a dry hot summer season (April to September) and a wet season (October to March). Plan your visit accordingly, keeping in mind the weather conditions that suit your preferences.

Health Precautions: Consult your healthcare provider for recommended vaccinations and carry necessary medications, including antimalarials if you plan to visit areas with a higher risk.

Travel Insurance: Consider purchasing comprehensive travel insurance that covers medical emergencies, trip cancellations, and other unexpected events.

Local Customs: Respect local customs and traditions. Dress modestly when visiting temples, and ask for permission before taking photos of people. You have to wear sarong to enter most temples. You can find many.

Language: While many locals speak English, Tamil is the language spoken in Tamil Nadu and India speaks a lot of languages. 

Safety:  Generally safe for travelers, but exercise caution against petty theft and scams. Use reputable transportation services and secure your belongings.

Currency Exchange: Use official money changers or banks for currency exchange to avoid scams and unfavorable rates. Count your money before leaving the counter. Airport exchange rate is not the best, so exchange a small amount there and you can exchange for good rates in regular places. 

Traffic and Driving: Traffic in India can be congested, and road rules may not always be followed. If you plan to rent a scooter or car, ensure you have the required licenses and wear helmets when riding.

Bargaining: Bargaining is common in Indian markets and stalls. Be prepared to negotiate prices, but do so politely and with a smile.

Tipping: Tipping is appreciated. Leaving a small tip for good service is customary in restaurants, and tipping your driver or guide for their service is a kind gesture.

Electricity: There are three associated plug types, types C, D and M. Plug type C is the plug which has two round pins, plug type D is the plug which has three round pins in a triangular pattern and plug type M is the plug which also has three round pins. India operates on a 230V supply voltage and 50Hz (https://rb.gy/a4mb3q)

Water: Tap water is not potable in India. Stick to filtered/ bottled water for drinking and avoid consuming ice in drinks from street vendors.

Cultural Sensitivity: Indian culture and customs  are vast and may vary region to region. Please show respect to the local population. Avoid public displays of affection, especially in rural areas.          

 

What to bring ?

When preparing for a Teacher Training Course (TTC) in India, it's important to pack wisely to ensure a comfortable and fulfilling experience. Here's a list of items to consider bringing:

 

Comfortable Yoga Clothing: Pack comfortable and breathable yoga attire. Lightweight, moisture-wicking fabrics are ideal for the warm weather in Bali.

Graduation day clothing: On the day of graduation, we like to have everyone in white, so if you like to being one, please do, else Auroville has a lot of stores to buy as well.

Yoga Mat: While we offer and provide mats, we always suggest you to bring your own for hygiene and personal comfort. We also offer recycled cork yoga mat for purchase.

Swimwear: We have a common swimming pool in Auroville which offers opportunities for swimming and water activities, so don't forget your swimsuit. But the beaches of Auroville unlike Goa is not good for swimming or sun bathing.

Sun Protection: Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a wide-brimmed hat are essential to protect yourself from the strong tropical sun.

Mosquito Repellent: Auroville is a tropical destination, so insect repellent is important to ward off mosquitoes, especially in the evenings.

Light Rain Jacket: While the weather is generally dry, it's a good idea to bring a lightweight rain jacket or poncho just in case of a brief shower.

Comfortable Walking Shoes: Pack comfortable walking shoes or sandals for exploring and trekking.

Reusable Water Bottle: Staying hydrated is important. Bring a reusable water bottle to fill up throughout the day.

Electrical Adapters: See above.

Toiletries: Bring your own toiletries, including shampoo, conditioner, soap, and any personal hygiene products you prefer. We also sell eco friendly and locally sourced products at the resort.

Travel Documents: Don't forget your passport, visa (if required), flight tickets, and copies of important documents. Store copies separately from the originals.

Medications: If you take any prescription medications, be sure to bring an adequate supply. It's also a good idea to pack a basic first-aid kit.

Cash and Cards: Cash in any major currencies is easily exchangeable. Bring credit/debit card for financial transactions. ATMs are widely available in India.

Travel Backpack: A small daypack or backpack is handy for carrying essentials during excursions and day trips.

Travel Locks: Use luggage locks to secure your belongings, especially when traveling between locations.

Travel Pillow and Earplugs: These items can make long journeys and accommodations more comfortable.

Personal Journal: If you like to reflect upon your trip, experiences and reflections.

Adapter for Yoga Practice: If you have any specific yoga props or accessories you prefer to use (e.g., yoga strap, block, cushion), you can bring them along. We have few to use in our shala.

Open Mind and Positive Attitude: Lastly, bring an open mind and a positive attitude. A TTC is a transformative journey, and a willingness to learn and grow is your most valuable asset.

By participating in any activities organized or facilitated by Bala Yoga School, its teachers, representatives, and associated entities you acknowledge and agree to the following terms:

 

Health and Belongings: Bala Yoga School, its teachers, representatives are not responsible for the health or belongings of participants during the program. We give utmost care for your personal safety through guidance and support. Valuables can be deposited at the reception for safe keeping.

First Aid and Emergency Services: Facilitators may provide access to first aid kits or assist in calling for emergency services, including ambulances to transport participants to hospitals if needed. However, they are not liable for the outcome or consequences of such services.

Participant Responsibility: Participants are solely responsible for their own well-being and the security of their belongings throughout the duration of the program.

Acceptance of Responsibility: Participants will only be accepted to join the program on the condition that they agree to take full responsibility for their own well-being .

 

Media:

We take photographs and video recordings during the course or related events and will be shared with you during the course. We will use these photographs and videos for promotional purposes, including but not limited to social media, marketing materials, and advertising. We believe in responsible social media.
