Dune Alaya, Eco Hotel is in Pemuteran village, located in the Northeast of Bali. Surrounded by an amazing landscape, with the Tiga Saudara (three siblings) mountains at its back and the Java volcano’s alley in front, it is a relatively new touristic destination, 124 km (around 3h30 hours from the Airport) away from the busy and touristic South. Widely spared by the effects of tourism, the village has so far preserved its original character. The Beach is just 1km away and the area around the Hotel invites for walks along the foot of the mountains and the original parts of the village. There is a great choice of activities in Pemuteran and its surrounding, like diving and snorkelling at the Bio-rocks or Menjangan Island, temple tours, bird watching, trekking or traditional Balinese Massages.

At Dune Alaya, your soul will instantly feel at ease, in peace and harmony with yourself and the natural environment. Spread around the round swimming pool, we offer 4 houses as a one-room bungalow and 3 houses as two-bedroom bungalows.

Dune Alaya Eco Hotel is built in the most ecological way, designed and furnished with taste using Indonesian recycled furniture antiques and offer all together 7 wooden reclaimed bungalows with 10 rooms. They are all equipped with organic bathroom amenities and linen, no A/C’s, Led lights and hot water.

Know before you go:

Passport : Remember you may have to have at least 6 months validity of your passport for travelling. Check this information with your travel agent / online.

Visa Requirements: Check the visa requirements for your nationality. Many countries can enter Bali for tourism purposes without a visa for a specified period, but it's essential to confirm this before your trip.

Currency: The local currency is the Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). Exchange some currency upon arrival for small expenses, and use ATMs for larger withdrawals.

Weather: Bali has a tropical climate, with a dry season (April to September) and a wet season (October to March). Plan your visit accordingly, keeping in mind the weather conditions that suit your preferences.

Health Precautions: Consult your healthcare provider for recommended vaccinations and carry necessary medications, including antimalarials if you plan to visit areas with a higher risk.

Travel Insurance: Consider purchasing comprehensive travel insurance that covers medical emergencies, trip cancellations, and other unexpected events.

Local Customs: Respect local customs and traditions. Dress modestly when visiting temples, and ask for permission before taking photos of people. You have to wear sarong to enter most temples. You can find many.

Balinese Language: While many locals speak English, it's helpful to learn a few basic Balinese phrases to facilitate communication and show respect for the local culture.

Safety: Bali is generally safe for travelers, but exercise caution against petty theft and scams. Use reputable transportation services and secure your belongings.

Currency Exchange: Use official money changers or banks for currency exchange to avoid scams and unfavorable rates. Count your money before leaving the counter. Airport exchange rate is not the best, so exchange a small amount there and you can exchange for good rates in regular places.

Traffic and Driving: Traffic in Bali can be congested, and road rules may not always be followed. If you plan to rent a scooter or car, ensure you have the required licenses and wear helmets when riding.

Bargaining: Bargaining is common in Bali's markets and stalls. Be prepared to negotiate prices, but do so politely and with a smile.

Electricity: Bali uses a 230V/50Hz electrical system with European-style Type C plugs. Bring the necessary adapters and converters if required(https://www.worldstandards.eu/electricity/plugs-and-sockets/c/)

Water: Tap water is not potable in Bali. Stick to bottled water for drinking and avoid consuming ice in drinks from street vendors.

Cultural Sensitivity: Learn about Balinese culture and customs to show respect to the local population. Avoid public displays of affection, especially in rural areas.
